We had a full rainbow over us as we got ready to pull out of Lafayette.
We left Broussard LA in the morning, and arrived in Meridian MS for our first stop that evening. The park was Bonita Lakes RV Park and although we didn't have a lake, we did have a pond.

Larry says he enjoys driving this camper. Its easy going down the highway; it cruises with its Chevy 454 V8 engine. We usually drive 4 to 6 hours on traveling days, although we've done as many as 12 hours driving in a day.
We've been thinking about Georgia for a while. The Army stationed my sister Gloria here when she got out of boot camp. We dream over pictures of the Appalachian mountain scenery and lakes. So when we had a few days we decided to "escape" to... you guessed it. :) Georgia on my mind.
We're currently at a lovely campsite in Hiawassee Georgia, it's 77 degrees (82% humidity) and raining. This camp grounds, Mountain View, is owned by a lovely man named Mike who lives here at the site. There are music weekends once a month in the long house pictured below.
It has rained every day since we arrived; it's raining now. I can hear the patter of rain on the roof. The air conditioner is on, even though it's only in the 70's, the humidity is also in the 70%'s. We've found that if we run the AC it dries the air out a bit.
We're planning on taking a drive around Lake Burton in a couple days, after the weekend when there will be less traffic. The roads are winding but in good condition. Looking forward...

I have been reading and replying to the blog sent to my email. Just realized that it said no-reply on the email address, so you probably aren't getting my messages! I realized that there was a link to the actual blog, so I finally went to this blog site. Didn't realize that I didn't get the video portions on my email! So now I'm going through again and really enjoying the trip. Thanks for sharing - great to follow you!
