Welcome to Rust

Travel Daze...

Running about, make the bed, pull up all the blinds, crack the windows, close the vents! Where are the cats?

We crossed 3 states to make our way to Lafayette to visit Adah and Brandon. Starting off in the desert it wasn't long before we crossed into the humidity of Northern Texas and Oklahoma.

Breakfast on a travel day... we enjoyed those apple slices all afternoon.

Once we left Arizona behind we stopped in New Mexico for the night.

Wide open spaces, warm desert winds.

We were looking for a rest stop near Oklahoma City, pushing through the city we found one near Earlboro. When we pulled in we realized it must have been abandoned. There was grass growing between the concrete slabs, the building was unused, the electrical stripped out. I turned to Larry and said, "Welcome to Rust!"

Three stops for gas, playing highway tag, we made it to our site at the KOA in Lafayette. The lake is very peaceful and the campsite is sparsely filled, so we're quite happy. Now, if the weather would cooperate... it's still quite warm and very humid.
